Franchise Decision Radar

About Franchise Decision Radar

Independent franchise comparison built from the documents franchisors are required to file with state regulators.

What this is

Franchise Decision Radar is a research tool for prospective franchise buyers. We extract structured data from Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) filed with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, then present that data in comparative formats designed for investment decisions.

The site covers recurring residential service franchises across 3 categories and 20 brands. Each brand page, comparison table, and decision report traces every claim to a specific page in a regulator-filed FDD.

What this is not

How it works

FDDs are public documents that franchise companies must file with state regulators before selling franchises in that state. We download these filings, extract the data using structured processes, and present it in formats that help buyers compare brands on fees, system health, startup cost, and disclosure quality.

Free comparison pages cover the full category. Paid Decision Reports ($99 per brand) go deeper on a single brand with fee modeling, Item 19 interpretation, economics scenarios, risk signals, and discovery-day preparation.

For details on how data is extracted and validated, see the full methodology.
